Accessibility

Draft — under legal review. This text is being prepared with our lawyer and may change before launch.

We want everyone to be able to find a plumber or find work on PLMBR, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

Our goal

PLMBR aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA.

PLMBR has not yet been independently audited. Some parts may not meet every requirement yet; the known ones are listed below, and we fix problems as we find them.

What we do

  • Actions can be done with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
  • We design buttons and links to be at least 44 by 44 pixels.
  • We choose text and control colours for sufficient contrast in the light and the dark theme.
  • Forms have visible labels, and errors are explained in words, not only in colour.
  • Swipe gestures always have buttons that do the same thing.
  • Pages are designed to work from 320 pixels wide without sideways scrolling.
  • Animations are reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • We check screens with automated accessibility tests during development.

Known limitations

  • Blog articles are published in English only.
  • Photos added by clients and plumbers have no detailed text description; screen readers announce them only by number.
  • Reviews, messages and profile texts are shown as their authors wrote them, in the author’s language.

Tell us about a problem

If something on PLMBR is hard to use for you, tell us through the contact form and choose “Accessibility feedback”. Tell us the page and what went wrong. If you give an email address in the form, we will reply and tell you what we will do about it; without one we cannot reply.

Other formats

If you need any page of PLMBR, including our Terms and Privacy Policy, in another format, tell us through the contact form and we will work with you to provide it. Please give an email address so that we can reply.
