Terms of Service

Last updated October 17, 2026

Draft — under legal review. This text is being prepared with our lawyer and may change before launch.

These Terms govern your use of PLMBR, a volunteer project led by Maksim Rudzenka (“we”, “us”), who operates the site as an individual. By creating an account or posting a job you accept them.

What PLMBR is

PLMBR helps homeowners find local plumbers and helps plumbers find work. PLMBR is not a party to the agreement between a client and a plumber, does not employ plumbers and does not control the quality, safety or price of their work.

PLMBR is a free volunteer project, not a company. It is provided at no charge and as it is, without paid support or guaranteed availability.

If anyone is in danger or water is near electrical outlets, call 911.

Who can use PLMBR

  • You must have reached the age of majority in your province or territory. By accepting these Terms you confirm that you have.
  • One email address is one account with one role: client or plumber.
  • A plumbing business uses one account for the whole team.

Your account

You sign in with a code sent to your email. Keep access to your email secure and never share a code. Tell us if you think someone else used your account.

Posting a job

  • Describe the problem honestly and add at least one photo of it.
  • A guest request is published only after you enter the code sent to your email; an unconfirmed request is deleted after 24 hours.
  • You choose a plumber yourself. Agree on the price, the work and the payment directly with the plumber.

Plumbers

  • Registration is free. Your profile must be accurate and your “About” text must not contain phone numbers or emails — clients see your number through the “Show phone number” button.
  • The “Licence verified” badge means our team matched your licence number with a public provincial registry. It is not a guarantee of your work. The badge expires 12 months after the check.
  • Gas work needs a gas licence, not only a plumbing licence: TSSA G3, G2 or G1 in Ontario, or an RBQ gas subclass in Quebec. PLMBR does not check gas licences. Ask the plumber for their gas licence before the work starts.
  • If you take a job, go. Not showing up, or cancelling yourself after taking a job, is a violation. 3 violations within 30 days stop emergency jobs for 7 days; regular jobs stay available. You can appeal once per suspension from your account.

Price

PLMBR is free for clients and plumbers and takes no commission on jobs. PLMBR does not take payments; you pay the plumber directly.

The platform does not set, guarantee or collect prices. A client may add a maximum budget to a job: it is a guide that helps plumbers decide, not a price or an offer, and it does not bind the client or the plumber. A plumber’s answer to a job with a budget is an arrival time and an optional note, not a contract. You and the plumber agree the final price.

Your content

You keep the rights to photos and texts you add. You allow us to show them on PLMBR as described in our Privacy Policy, for as long as we keep them.

Reviews

Reviews come only from jobs arranged through PLMBR and follow our Review Policy. A review is the opinion of its author. Our team checks every review against the Review Policy before it appears, but does not confirm every statement in it.

What is not allowed

  • Fake accounts, fake jobs or fake reviews, or reviews you were asked or paid to write.
  • Spam, harassment, threats or discrimination.
  • Phone numbers, emails or other contact details in profile texts, reviews or replies.
  • Collecting plumbers’ phone numbers or other data in bulk, by script or otherwise.
  • Trying to get around our limits, security checks or a suspension.
  • Anything illegal, or work that needs a licence you do not hold.

Suspension

We may suspend an account that breaks these Terms. A suspended account is signed out everywhere and its active jobs and responses are stopped. We tell you by email; you can ask us to review the decision through the contact form.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time on the “Privacy and your data” page of your account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. A job in progress must be finished first.

Our responsibility

We provide PLMBR free of charge and as it is, as a volunteer project, and work to keep it available and secure. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for the work of plumbers or for agreements between clients and plumbers. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your province.

Applicable law and disputes

This section is being prepared with our lawyer and will say which laws apply and how disputes are resolved, including the rules that protect consumers in Ontario and Quebec.

Changes

When we change these Terms in a material way, we update the date above and show a notice in your account, where you are asked to confirm the new version on “Privacy and your data”. We may also send you a short service email about it. You can keep using PLMBR until you confirm. Please look at the date above from time to time.

Language

These Terms are available in English and in French. Use the language switch at the bottom of any page.
